ExceptionalNurse.com is a grassroots effort to meet the needs of nursing students and nurses with disabilities. In order to keep this effort viable, your financial support is needed. Through your help, ExceptionalNurse.com can continue to offer encouragement and support to nursing students with disabilities and to practicing nurses. ExceptionalNurse.com has established a scholarship fund for nursing students with disabilities. Disabled Nurses Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund ExceptionalNurse.com received a grant from the Disability Funders Network to assist nurses with disabilities in areas impacted by Hurricane Katrina. Nurses with disabilities received financial assistance of $250-$500. The recipients used the funds for food, medications, routine living expenses and house repairs. An article about the recipients appears in Advance for Nurses. ExceptionalNurse.com continues to receive requests for assistance. Donations (large and small) are needed.
